Tufted carpeting (fabric backing stitched with tuft fibers) or tufting, is a coating manufactured using pre-dyed fibers. They have high color resistance, which makes it possible to use these coatings in locations with a lot of foot traffic. Using dyed fibers makes it possible to create even, soft carpet colors perfect for creating attractive office and studyroom interiors.
Carpeting also offers sound-insulating properties. Such coatings deaden sounds in facilities, i.e. ringing telephones, chair movements, operating equipment. As carpeting decreases the level of reflected acoustics, it is recommended for environments with fine acoustics (such as conference rooms and auditoriums).
Velour carpeting is a carpeting with short loop-shaped tufts, which is close-cut at equal lengths. This makes the surface of the carpeting even and velvety. According to the tuft length, carpeting with cut tuft is divided into the following groups: low-tufted (tuft length 2 – 3 mm (0.08” – 0.12”)), middle-tufted (3 – 5 mm (0.12” – 0.2”)), high-tufted (over 5 mm (0.2”)). |
